POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Technical Services, the Project Officer is responsible for the provision of technical advisory, consultation, review and recommendation services in capital management, engineering and architectural related activities inherent to the Mushkegowuk First Nations. This includes assistance in the planning, management, estimating, inspection and reporting on housing and infrastructure capital projects; operation and maintenance of educational facilities; assistance in verifying and maintaining the Capital Asset Inventory Systems; ensures the provision of proper maintenance and operation of community municipal systems; and provides other technical advisory functions as required.
REQUIREMENTS
· A Post-Secondary diploma or degree in Civil or Construction Engineering
· (2) two-year work experience in technical advisory services or related field
· Experience with Technical Advisory Boards, Government and funding organizations
· Experience in budgeting, financing, and project management
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Experience working with First Nations, band administration, housing, public works, and community members
· Have a good knowledge and understanding of Mushkegowuk Communities
· Required travel to Mushkegowuk communities
· Must have a valid Class G Ontario driver’s license
· Must have a Satisfactory Criminal Records Check
